Up to 400 Million KRW Support for Commercialization Technology Development Projects for a Maximum of 2 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency announced on the 6th that it plans to support a total of 38 overseas source technology development and diagnosis projects this year through technological development cooperation with Russia.
This project is being promoted as part of an international cooperation technology development project newly established to support the entry of small and medium-sized venture businesses into the new northern market, commemorating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Russia.
The 'Overseas Source Technology Commercialization Technology Development Project,' which has been supported since early this year, supports follow-up technology development centered on small and medium-sized venture businesses and strengthens technological capabilities based on cooperation with experts and technology by introducing core technologies owned by Russian public institutions and companies into Korea.
As a result of conducting a demand survey targeting Russian public institutions and companies through prior planning, experts possessing demand and supply technologies for bilateral technological cooperation as well as source and core technologies were identified.
Last month, 13 'Commercialization Technology Development' projects supporting follow-up technology development through the introduction of core technologies owned by Russia were selected. Up to 400 million KRW per project will be supported for up to two years through agreements this month.
A total of 25 'Technology Diagnosis and Planning' projects aimed at solving difficulties related to technology development and manufacturing processes using Russian experts will be selected. Up to 30 million KRW per project will be supported, and applications will be accepted until the 14th of this month.
In particular, considering the difficulties faced by small and medium-sized venture businesses in global technological cooperation due to COVID-19, projects using a non-face-to-face (untact) method will be supported. The business management guidelines have been revised to enable related procedures and infrastructure utilization for smooth untact meetings with Russian experts.
The agency plans to minimize inconveniences related to project execution by domestic small and medium-sized venture businesses due to COVID-19 through continuous field feedback in the future.
An official from the agency said, "Through this project, we expect to promote short-term commercialization technology development for domestic small and medium-sized venture businesses and to play a pioneering role in establishing a global technological cooperation system for small and medium-sized venture businesses by preemptively targeting import substitution industries of technology cooperation partner countries and driving overseas market entry."
