'Hidden Singer 6' Rain Eliminated in Final Round... Monsta X Shownu Makes Surprise Appearance

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Rain was eliminated in the final round of 'Hidden Singer 6.'

On the afternoon of the 4th, JTBC's entertainment program 'Hidden Singer 6' featured Rain (38, real name Jung Ji-hoon) as the 'original singer.' Rain lost to the strongest mimic, Kim Hyun-woo, in the final round.

From the moment he appeared on the show, Rain joked, "I will definitely win. There is no defeat in my life. My voice can never be imitated. I am 90% air and 10% voice by nature, so it won't be easy to beat me."

He also showed strong confidence, saying, "If I get eliminated, I will go home."

The first round featured Rain's debut song, "Nappeun Namja" (Bad Guy). Rain shared a behind-the-scenes story, saying, "'Nappeun Namja' did not win any awards. I debuted the week before the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup qualifiers. Park Jin-young said, 'Those who are meant to succeed will,' so I went out, but 'Nappeun Namja' failed."

The celebrity judging panel tried to find Rain among the mimic contestants, but in fact, Rain did not appear on stage in the first round. When Rain stood up from the audience during the results announcement, the celebrity judges were greatly shocked.

Rain revealed, "There were so many mimic contestants that I decided to skip the first round," adding, "Normally, I should have been inside the box, but since there were so many people similar to me, they told me to skip the first round," delivering a twist where the original singer was not inside the box.

In the first round that day, contestant number 4 was eliminated. Contestant number 4 was the mimic 'Incheshin Bi Shin Jae-wook.'

In the second round, Monsta X's Shownu appeared as a mimic, surprising everyone.

Shownu said, "Watching Rain hyung, I changed my dream from being a swimmer to this. I heard that hyung was on my side, so I applied and participated myself," expressing, "It's truly an honor. Please buy me a drink next time," openly showing his fandom for Rain.
