[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Samyook University Alumni Association is launching a fundraising campaign to help their alma mater overcome the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). On the 4th, Samyook University announced that it held the 'COVID-19 Overcome Glory Samyook Fund Launch Ceremony.' This fund will prioritize providing scholarships to students whose family circumstances have worsened due to COVID-19 and will also be used to expand online lecture infrastructure as well as for prevention and quarantine activities. The Alumni Association, in cooperation with the university administration and the student council, will carry out fundraising activities until the end of the year. Im Jongseong, Senior Vice President of the Alumni Association, said, "Although several sponsorship and scholarship projects planned at the beginning of the year were disrupted due to COVID-19, we could not delay support projects for our alma mater any longer. We will do our best to support our juniors so that they do not suffer economic difficulties through this fundraising."
