[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] Jo Joo-bin, who produced and shared sexual exploitation materials in the Telegram 'Baksa Room,' testified in court that he tried to 'brand' the sexual exploitation materials he created.

On the 1st, Jo appeared as a witness at the trial of accomplice Han Mo, held at the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 31 (Presiding Judge Seongpil Cho), and stated, "When the prosecution asked why I repeatedly made victims perform specific actions such as raising their pinky fingers, I said it was to make money and to brand the sexual exploitation materials I created."

Jo also instructed Baksa Room members to meet victims offline and sexually abuse them directly. Han, who is on trial that day, was involved in the sexual abuse. Regarding the situation where Jo proposed this to Han, he calmly said, "It was like saying 'Do you want to have a meal?' in everyday life, just saying 'Do you want to go offline?'" and added, "Because it was not a normal worldview."

He also mentioned that one of the victims was older than the accomplice 'Taepyeongyang' Lee Mo, stating, "The suspect sees those who can bear legal and social responsibility as adults, but when peers become victims, they are seen as beings who do not understand money or society." He added, "Buyers, bystanders, and victims all acted outside the bounds of common sense in an extraordinary world," and said, "If you really want to solve this case, you need to look at it differently."

Regarding having other accomplices manage the Baksa Room, Jo said, "It was easier to operate if someone else took charge," but added, "Except for a few, I never thought of them as accomplices nor had any attachment to them." However, when the prosecution used the term 'division of roles,' Jo rebutted, "It was not a division of roles; we did it together." This is interpreted as a denial of the charges related to organizing a criminal group applied by the prosecution.

Before Jo, 'Buddha' Kang Hoon appeared as a witness and testified that he was in charge of operating the Baksa Room and exchanged virtual currency, which was criminal proceeds, under Jo's instructions, receiving some transportation expenses. However, Kang stated, "I do not know exactly what roles the members had, but I think my assistance made the crime easier to commit."
