"Capturing the Growing Demand for Home Appliances"

Emart Launches '300,000 Won Range' 50-Inch Private Brand TV Sale

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Emart is launching cost-effective private brand (PB) TVs and monitors to capture the growing demand for home appliances.

Emart announced on the 1st that it plans to sell the ‘Electroman 50-inch TV’ on the 3rd and the ‘No Brand 24-inch Monitor’ on the 10th.

The ‘Electroman 50-inch UHD TV’ is the sixth model in Emart’s Electroman TV lineup and will be sold in a limited quantity of 3,000 units at 379,000 KRW. This price is more than 40% cheaper compared to similar products with comparable specifications on the market. Despite being a 50-inch smart TV, it is priced in the 300,000 KRW range. It is designed as a versatile model suitable for internet lectures as well as gaming. The product is officially certified for ‘Netflix’ and ‘YouTube,’ offering remote control button shortcut functions and supports 4K quality streaming. Emart guarantees the quality directly and provides after-sales service through over 100 TG Sambo specialized service centers nationwide.

The ‘No Brand 24-inch Flat Monitor’ boasts a striking price of 119,000 KRW. It is about 20-30% cheaper than similar brand products. Featuring a frameless bezel, it offers a wide screen and supports full HD resolution of 1920*1080 for clear images. It also includes flicker-free and blue light reduction functions to reduce eye fatigue. Flicker-free technology eliminates the backlight flickering of the monitor, allowing comfortable long-term use without symptoms such as eye strain, headaches, or blurred vision. Additionally, it is equipped with built-in speakers, making it optimized for watching videos such as remote classes.

Emart is actively expanding its private brand home appliances because related sales have been steadily increasing. In fact, from the 15th to the 30th of last month, monitor sales increased by 35.8%, and tablet PC sales rose by 47.8%. TV sales also recorded a 35.8% growth rate, and ‘TV peripherals’ such as soundbars and cables grew by 67.4%.

This is interpreted as a result of companies adopting remote work one after another due to the impact of COVID-19, while elementary, middle, and high schools in the metropolitan area have implemented full remote classes. The increase in ‘homeconomy’ consumers who enjoy leisure activities at home has led to more cases of comfortably watching movies and dramas at home using various video platforms and IPTV, causing the related market to continue expanding.

Jieun Kang, Emart’s home appliance buyer, said, “Based on Emart’s long-standing know-how in home appliance product development, we have added private brand TVs and monitors that boast excellent quality and reasonable prices,” and added, “This will be a great opportunity for customers looking to purchase TVs or monitors to shop economically.”
