[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] Amid the buzz over the satirical petition in the form of a memorial called 'Simu 7jo' posted on the Blue House National Petition Board, a new post borrowing the format of 'Yeongnam Maninso' has appeared, subtly criticizing President Moon Jae-in and the government. Yeongnam Maninso was a memorial submitted by over 10,000 Confucian scholars from the Yeongnam region in the 1880s during King Gojong's reign, opposing the government's modernization policies.

Earlier on the 29th, a petitioner identifying himself as 'Baekdu Kim from Gyeongsang-do' posted a lengthy article titled 'Yeongnam Maninso Impeaching Jin-in Joeunsan' on the National Petition Board.

In the post, Baekdu Kim stated, "Recently, I heard that a certain Jin-in named Joeunsan has repeatedly submitted a delusional memorial called 'Simu 7jo' to His Majesty the Emperor, disturbing the country and confusing the public sentiment," adding, "Upon roughly reviewing Joeunsan's 'Simu 7jo' inherited by me, my hair stood on end, my liver trembled, and suddenly tears overflowed uncontrollably down my cheeks."

'Simu 7jo' is a memorial-style post uploaded on the 12th by a petitioner who identified himself as 'Joeunsan.' At that time, Joeunsan criticized the government's economic and real estate policies through the post.

Baekdu Kim adopted a format of criticizing each point of 'Simu 7jo' while actually continuing satire directed at government and ruling party figures.

Regarding Chief Presidential Secretary Noh Young-min, he said, "Dosungji Noh Young-min is a truly lovely subject whom His Majesty the Emperor would not mind even putting in his eye, having tried to keep a smart house in Gangnam but ended up selling even that humble shack in obedience to the Emperor's will," adding, "Now that he has no house left in Joseon, how could he be expelled from the palace?"

He sarcastically remarked about former Blue House Policy Chief Kim Soo-hyun, "Many high-ranking officials including Seungji Kim Soo-hyun all own smart houses in Gangnam, so there is no place where His Majesty's grace does not reach."

Regarding former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, he criticized, "When teaching Confucian scholars at Sungkyunkwan, he meddled in all sorts of worldly affairs and nitpicked," and "After becoming Minister of Justice himself, he led by example by practicing what he had criticized others for, earning the nickname 'Cho Stradamus' for his insight."

About Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party, he pointed out, "Lee Nak-yeon, who served as Prime Minister, joined the ruling party that led the impeachment of the late Emperor Roh Moo-hyun," adding, "He left a lasting grievance against his predecessor."

Baekdu Kim concluded, "In fact, the reason I, a humble person, boasted my lowly talent and wrote this absurd memorial was solely to have the people of the country read it once and all have a good laugh," ending his post. As of 9:50 p.m. that day, the post had received over 3,950 endorsements.
