[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] The Gyeongnam Haman Culture and Arts Center announced on the 31st that it received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award in the cultural arts category at the 13th Jeju Haevichi Art Festival.
The festival is hosted by the Korea Culture and Arts Centers Association, and among 220 cultural centers nationwide, 6 centers selected through the first round of document screening were finally chosen after a comprehensive evaluation including a second round of presentation announcements.
The Haman Culture and Arts Center received the highest scores in four criteria: ▲activation of cultural center operations ▲contribution to local culture ▲recognition ▲innovation, and was honored with the final award in recognition of its significant contribution to the operation of the cultural center and the revitalization of local culture and arts.
Since its opening in 2005, the Haman Culture and Arts Center is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, with a total project cost of 3.9 billion KRW.
It is directly operated by the county, running various performance, exhibition, and education programs through attracting excellent programs for residents, expanding cultural enjoyment rights, and securing various public contest projects.
A representative of the Culture and Arts Center stated, “We will strive to develop programs that allow residents to participate in diverse cultural and artistic activities and attract many excellent contents so that Haman-gun can further advance as a cultural city.”
