[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Former Future United Party lawmaker Cha Myung-jin, who tested positive for COVID-19 and is undergoing isolation treatment after attending the Liberation Day rally in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, said, "The Moon Jae-in administration has yet to present a single piece of evidence proving that the (COVID-19) virus was transmitted at the Gwanghwamun rally site."

On the 30th, Cha wrote on his Facebook, "They are repeatedly and unilaterally spreading fake news that 'Gwanghwamun rally = epicenter of COVID-19 spread' using the media they control," expressing this view.

He added, "I am grateful to many who have sent their concerns and support, and I apologize for causing more worry rather than joy," and stated, "However, I cannot accept the claim that by going there that day, I only increased Moon Jae-in's approval rating."

He continued, "Fortunately, evidence exposing the Moon Jae-in administration's COVID-19 dictatorship conspiracy is gradually emerging," and said, "Those who blindly followed Moon Jae-in's witch hunt, claiming to be self-proclaimed rational conservatives and criticized the Gwanghwamun rally, should reflect even now before it is too late."

He also pointed out, "What truly frustrated me while being here was not being confined," but "why the right-wing outside fights among themselves so much."

Furthermore, Cha said, "At this rate, I think the revival of the right wing is far off. I felt that I couldn't do anything because I was afraid of my own side," and added, "Thanks to the concern of many comrades, I recovered without getting sick and was discharged in good health. I will rest for a while and see you elsewhere."

Earlier, Cha tested positive for COVID-19 on the 19th after attending the rally in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, on the 15th.

He was later isolated at the Gyeonggi Ansan Small and Medium Venture Training Center, used as a living treatment center, but was transferred to a negative pressure room at Icheon Medical Center on the 24th due to pneumonia symptoms.
