Publication of a booklet covering activities by council members and committees from July 2019 to June 2020... Distributed to public institutions and posted on the council website to serve as a bridge with residents
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Gwangjin District Council (Chairperson Park Sam-rye) has published the 'Gwangjin Council News' to provide an overview of its legislative activities over the past year, from July last year to June this year.
The booklet was produced to share the council's legislative activities over the past year, which were closely connected to the daily lives of residents, serving as a foundation for development and to encourage public empathy and participation.
The 'Gwangjin Council News,' containing the vision and passion of 14 council members, consists of 63 pages and 6 content sections.
The main contents are organized in the order of the foreword, council composition, session operation status, committee activities, individual council members' legislative activities, and media coverage of the Gwangjin District Council.
In particular, compared to 2018, when neither standing committee nor special committee activities were fully included, and 2019, when only special committee activities were included, this booklet features the full activities of both standing and special committees, distinguishing it from the past with a revamped format.
The newly added 'Committee Activities' section includes major agenda items handled by each standing committee along with activity photos.
The Budget and Accounts Special Committee introduces major increases, decreases, and newly established items by project, while the Administrative Affairs Audit Special Committee presents results of administrative audits such as cases of corrective actions and recommendations.
The 'Gwangjin Council News' will be published in 500 copies, placed in elementary, middle, and high schools within the district, the district office, and community service centers' civil service offices to promote the council. It will also be sent to public institutions and Seoul city and autonomous district councils, and anyone can access it on the Gwangjin District Council website.
Chairperson Park Sam-rye stated, “Records remain as history. The Gwangjin District Council aims to be part of these historic moments by documenting its legislative activities every session over the past year. In this sense, the newly produced promotional booklet 'Gwangjin Council News' will serve as a bridge connecting residents and the council by capturing the legislative activities of the past year.”
She added, “Through this promotional booklet, we will strengthen communication with residents, which has been limited due to COVID-19, and incorporate more residents' voices into our legislative activities.”
