RaonPeople to Participate in the 58 Trillion Won Digital New Deal Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Raon People, an artificial intelligence (AI) vision specialist company, announced on the 27th that it has been selected as a key business operator in the data and AI sectors for the supplementary budget project in the fields of data, AI, and cloud to promote the ‘Digital New Deal’ policy.
The supplementary budget project is being promoted to turn the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis into a new opportunity for overcoming challenges and growth. Raon People has been selected as an executing agency for ▲AI training data construction ▲AI convergence projects ▲AI voucher projects.
In the AI era, securing and utilizing high-quality data is a resource so important that it determines national competitiveness. The related projects are being promoted to support the development and utilization of AI based on large-scale data and to secure leadership in future industrial changes through this.
Raon People will carry out two data construction tasks in the AI training data construction field: crop disease and pest AI data, and traffic safety AI data. In the AI convergence project field, it will undertake the development of an illegal counterfeit product detection system as part of the Korea Customs Service demonstration project. In the AI voucher field, it will perform three demonstration tasks: camera module inspection, dispenser AI inspection, and dental implant AI inspection. The total project cost for the three fields is 370 billion KRW, making it the largest scale in the AI supplementary budget projects.
Kim Jooyoung, Director of Raon People, said, "The total project cost of the tasks performed by the Raon People consortium in the supplementary budget project is about 19.7 billion KRW," adding, "Raon People chose the supervisory method of leading each project as the main operator."
He also said, "Winning these tasks is an opportunity to objectively reaffirm Raon People’s high AI technology and the excellence of AI smart transportation, AI smart farm, and AI data recognition solutions," adding, "We will successfully complete the projects by the end of the year and participate in various fields of the 58 trillion KRW scale Digital New Deal projects until 2025."
Raon People has proven its technology with industrial AI machine vision solutions and secured AI vision technology that can be expanded to various business fields. It plans to take a leading role in the Digital New Deal supplementary budget projects to contribute to overcoming the COVID-19 crisis and economic recovery.
