[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] A fire broke out at Daegu Medical Center, which has a negative pressure isolation room for COVID-19 patients, causing medical staff and confirmed patients to evacuate to the first-floor lobby.
According to the Daegu Western Police Station on the 27th, a fire occurred around 11:56 PM the previous night in the system air conditioner of a patient room on the 4th floor of the main building of Daegu Medical Center. The fire was extinguished within 6 minutes by the sprinkler system inside the room.
When the fire alarm sounded, 43 people, including 14 close contacts of COVID-19 patients on the 4th floor of the main building, 26 confirmed patients hospitalized on the 3rd floor, and 3 nurses, urgently evacuated to the first-floor lobby. They were readmitted after the fire was put out.
