[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Four research and development (R&D) outcomes developed through the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) Industrial Technology Innovation Project have been selected as excellent R&D innovative products by the Public Procurement Service this year. They will make a full-scale entry into the public market.
The Excellent R&D Innovative Product Designation System is a program that supports public market access by linking innovative products developed under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s R&D projects with innovative procurement.
The products designated this time are ▲Horong’s eco-friendly electric excavator ▲Astar’s mass spectrometer (MicroIDSys) ▲Samjin Precision’s self-diagnostic real-time leakage monitoring valve ▲Blue Ocean Tech’s floating dock (floating body equipped with vacuum flow prevention device).
These products are commercialized based on KEIT R&D achievements. From the date of designation, they are recognized as innovative products for three years, allowing direct contracts in public procurement with government and public institutions.
Jung Yang-ho, President of KEIT, stated, "We plan to continuously promote cooperation with related ministries and affiliated organizations so that R&D outcomes developed by small and medium-sized enterprises can create initial markets through public procurement called innovative procurement."
He added, "KEIT will continue to build a comprehensive service environment that can overcome hurdles for commercialization success, including strengthening R&D support expertise, commercialization funding, and business management support."
