National Cultural Heritage Administration Indoor Viewing Facilities to Close

Due to the Resurgence of COVID-19... Natural Monument Center and Others Closed

Indoor exhibition facilities under the jurisdiction of the Cultural Heritage Administration nationwide will close starting today (the 23rd) due to the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The Cultural Heritage Administration stated, "This measure was taken as the social distancing level 2, which was previously limited to the metropolitan area, has been expanded nationwide," and added, "We will closely monitor the spread of COVID-19 and announce the reopening schedule accordingly." The indoor exhibition facilities closing from today include the Natural Monument Center (Daejeon), the National Gyeongju Cultural Heritage Research Institute (exhibition hall), the National Buyeo Cultural Heritage Research Institute (exhibition hall), the National Jungwon Cultural Heritage Research Institute (exhibition hall), and the Jjoksaem Site Excavation Hall (Gyeongju). The Cultural Heritage Administration also conveyed that "the closure measures previously applied to the National Palace Museum, palace and royal tomb exhibition facilities, and the National Intangible Heritage Center will continue."
