[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] The Korean Medical Association announced on the 23rd that it has sent an official letter proposing an emergency meeting to the Prime Minister, the Democratic Party of Korea, and the United Future Party, judging that the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is serious.
The association explained that since the COVID-19 outbreak is spreading nationwide, medical and political cooperation is more urgent than ever, and thus proposed a dialogue.
This request aims to seek reasonable solutions through dialogue between the medical community and political circles regarding health and medical policies such as expanding medical school quotas, establishing public medical schools, including herbal medicine prescriptions in insurance coverage, and promoting non-face-to-face medical consultations.
