MuhaYu Co., Ltd. and Kidari Studio Co., Ltd. have joined forces to address plagiarism and copyright infringement issues in the web novel market.

MuhaYu (CEO Shin Dong-ho), a leading domestic AI-based plagiarism detection technology company, announced on the 18th that it has signed a strategic business partnership agreement with Kidari Studio (CEO Kim Young-hoon), a content specialist company listed under the Daou Kiwoom Group.

Under this agreement, MuhaYu will receive content for which Kidari Studio holds publishing rights to use as comparison material for plagiarism detection. Kidari Studio will utilize MuhaYu’s plagiarism detection service to check the similarity of sentences and expressions in web novels scheduled for publication, thereby preventing plagiarism and copyright infringement issues. Additionally, with Kidari Studio’s web novels registered in the Copykiller database, copyright protection of owned content will be strengthened, and proper citation sources can be indicated.

Kim Hee-soo, General Manager of MuhaYu, said, “As the web novel market grows, we have received many inquiries from related companies, and we are pleased to establish a cooperative relationship with Kidari Studio.” He added, “Soon, we plan to offer services that verify not only textual expression matches but also context-based storyline similarity.”

Kim Young-jin, Team Leader at Kidari Studio, stated, “As a leading company driving the globalization of domestic media content, we believe we must take the lead in solving web novel plagiarism issues.” He continued, “This agreement is seen as an opportunity to proactively cleanse plagiarism and copyright infringement problems in the web novel market, which have so far been judged only by market evaluation.”

Meanwhile, MuhaYu is currently in the second year of a project funded by the Korea Copyright Commission titled ‘Development of Context Information Analysis-Based Matching Technology to Promote the Use of Electronic Published Works.’ Through this project, an AI algorithm will be developed to analyze contextual information such as characters, relationships, emotions, and plots that can grasp the content and atmosphere of electronic publications.
