[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) received the ‘Love Scholarship’ collected through Costech’s ‘Spare Change Collection Campaign’ on the 12th.
The scholarship, totaling 10 million KRW, is scheduled to be awarded to five low-income students from vulnerable groups within the region in September.
Since 2014, Costech has participated annually in the ‘Spare Change Collection Campaign’ with all employees to support outstanding students facing financial difficulties and fulfill its corporate responsibility for mutual growth with the community.
Along with the funds raised, the company has contributed additional support to carry out the ‘Scholarship Support Project’ in collaboration with Seocho-gu. To date, a total of 54 students and one social welfare institution have received scholarships amounting to 99 million KRW, and during holidays, encouragement gifts have been sponsored for low-income groups within the district.
This scholarship distribution will be made through recommendations from the local community center, providing 2 million KRW each to four university students and one high school student from low-income families.
Min Kyungwon, CEO of Costech, stated, “The scholarship support project is a representative contribution activity of Costech that actively practices mutual growth with the local community based on the corporate social responsibility philosophy of ‘Together in Harmony.’ We plan to continuously promote various activities that help outstanding local youth achieve their dreams.”
Eunhee Jo, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “I am grateful to Costech for annually giving courage and hope to students who quietly pursue their talents and dreams despite difficult family circumstances. I hope the youth who receive the scholarships will succeed in their paths and brighten the local community.”
