[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG HelloVision announced on the 19th that it will completely revamp HelloTV to introduce a content-centered TV service.
This revamp focuses on ▲maximizing content immersion ▲enhancing accessibility to specialized services ▲improving convenience in content exploration ▲and upgrading the VOD detail screen. First, a home screen with significantly increased content immersion is introduced. The HelloTV home menu design has been changed to a black and yellow combination, and the poster size has been enlarged by 115%. This not only increases focus on the content itself but also creates a screen that reduces eye fatigue.
The entry method to HelloTV’s specialized services such as Netflix and Idleunara has also been simplified. Users can access these services within five remote control operations from the home menu. Fast access is possible within the screen without using the remote control hotkey (shortcut button).
Convenience in content exploration has been enhanced through an intuitive menu structure. Various AI and big data-based personalized recommendation categories are displayed on a single screen. This allows users to select content that suits their preferences immediately without multiple exploration steps. Additionally, a preview of submenus is provided during menu navigation, making it easier to find the next menu to move to.
The VOD detail page has been revamped to allow users to check detailed content information such as price, options, and recommendation counts at a glance. Notably, the newly added monthly subscription button is worth attention. This reflects the trend of increasing VOD usage through monthly subscriptions based on customer usage pattern analysis. Through the subscription button, users can browse various monthly subscription products that include the VOD and conveniently subscribe.
Kim Ji-hyuk, Executive Director in charge of Home Products at LG HelloVision, said, “We have introduced a simple and intuitive ‘content-centered UI·UX’ so that users can enjoy the diverse content services provided by LG HelloVision more easily and quickly,” adding, “We hope customers will feel the joy of exploration with the new UI·UX of HelloTV.”
