[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is hosting "If there is someone better than me! Come out and show yourself!" for teenagers who find outdoor activities difficult due to COVID-19, allowing them to enjoy it at home.
Also known as "Na.Jal.Na," this online program involves watching 7 mission videos filmed by youth leaders and recording videos that surpass the leaders' records, then uploading them to the participant's Facebook.
The 7 missions include ▲Kart Rider game ▲soccer ball volley trapping ▲double jump rope ▲moving beans with chopsticks ▲computer typing ▲block stacking ▲fast calculation, which can be viewed as videos on the Gangseo-gu Youth Center Facebook page.
Any Korean youth aged 14 (born in 2007) to 19 (born in 2002) can participate.
To participate, follow the Gangseo Youth Center Facebook, select one event you want to join, download the application form from the Gangseo Youth Center website, and apply via email.
After applying, record a video surpassing the youth leader's record and post it on your personal Facebook with the designated hashtags including Gangseo-gu and Gangseo Youth Center.
The first mission challenge applications are open until the 25th, and the winner of the first mission will become the main figure of the second mission challenge.
The first mission winner will set a new mission they are confident in and post the mission video, leading to the second mission challenge.
Youths who did not win the first mission can also challenge the second mission. The second mission challenge will be held from the 31st of this month to the 13th of next month.
The winner's prize is a 50,000 KRW book culture gift certificate, and there will also be an Early Bird Award (first applicant) and an Insider Award (most likes), each awarded to one person.
A Gangseo-gu official said, "We hope this will be a time for youths, whose opportunities for play have decreased due to COVID-19, to communicate together online," and added, "We look forward to many youths enjoying this new play culture to the fullest."
