[Announcement+] AFW Obtains Patent for Busbar Manufacturing Related to Film Capacitors

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] AFW announced on the 18th through a public disclosure that it has obtained a patent for a manufacturing method of busbars for film capacitors.

This patent is the company's eighth patent related to the new busbar product. Last year, the company registered five patents for various products including fuse busbars, CAF busbars, and CCA busbars, and added two more patents in the first half of this year.

The company explained, "The newly developed busbar is manufactured by linear friction welding of copper electrode terminals onto aluminum thin plates, enabling weight reduction and cost savings, and improving product performance by enhancing the bonding strength between aluminum and copper."

The company plans to diversify its business portfolio through continuous acquisition and commercialization of new technologies. Furthermore, to actively enter the global market, it is accelerating the acquisition of new technologies overseas. Currently, 13 busbar-related patents have been filed in China, Japan, and the United States, and European patent applications are also being prepared.

Jin Jeong-ah, CEO of AFW, said, "We are continuously developing products that the market needs through our core competitive friction welding technology," adding, "We will expand our business areas and establish a foundation for stable growth based on products that only AFW can create."
