Gangbuk-gu Hosts Online Writer Dialogue with Hasangwook and Yojo

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) will broadcast "Online Conversation with Writers with Hasangwook and Yojo" live on September 14th at 4 PM on the YouTube channel "Gangbuk-gu".

This event was prepared to commemorate Reading Month and to increase accessibility to cultural activities, which have been restricted for a long time due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The moderator Yojo (Shin Su-jin, writer and singer) and invited poet Hasangwook will have a conversation with netizens under the theme "Empathy and Comfort Come First." The conversation will be accompanied by songs and performances by the book band swan.u.

The conversation with the writers will be held in two parts over 90 minutes. The theme of Part 1 is the hope that a few warm lines of comfort will return with the power of a dozen or so verses. After Part 1, "Clumsy Comfort with Poetry," which recommends poems suitable for stories submitted in advance, will be held. Part 2 will discuss the era in which empathy and comfort are commodities. Toward the end, there will also be a Q&A session with readers called "Ask the Poet."

For residents who find it difficult to participate in real time, the district office plans to upload an edited video on the official SNS (YouTube, Facebook) after the broadcast ends. A satisfaction survey and feedback collection for program improvement will also be conducted for those who applied in advance.

Participants who have questions for the performers or wish to submit stories can apply on the Gangbuk-gu Office website (Citizen Participation - District Administration Participation - Conversation with Writers) by the 31st of this month.

Participants will receive an "invitation link" (link · broadcast connection address) at the contact information registered at the time of application.

Park Kyum-soo, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "I hope this conversation with writers will be a time to receive warm comfort and empathy through the exchange." He added, "We will continue to expand and discover various non-face-to-face programs for residents who are experiencing difficulties due to changes in daily life caused by COVID-19."
