‘Human+Computer+Experience+AI’ Leads Post-Corona Era On August 12, a seminar on "Revitalizing the HCI-UX-AI Linked Industry in the Post-Corona Era" was held at Dong-Eui University.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-Eui University held a seminar aimed at revitalization through inter-industry linkage targeting the 'post-COVID-19 era.'

The university's Innovation Support Project Group (Director Jo Jae-kyun), Specialization Project Group (Director Shin Byung-chul), Industry-Academia Cooperation Group and LINC+ Project Group (Director Lee Im-geon), and the Big Data Artificial Intelligence Center (Director Kim Sung-hee), among other project groups leading university projects in various industrial fields, participated in large numbers.

The seminar titled "Activation of HCI-UX-AI Linked Industries in the Post-COVID-19 Era" was held on August 12 at 2 p.m. at Dong-Eui University's Jicheon Hall.

The event was sponsored by the Korean HCI Society (President Lee Joong-sik, Seoul National University professor) and the Korean Ergonomics Society (President Yoon Myung-hwan, Seoul National University professor).

About 30 participants attended, including professors related to HCI (Human-Computer Interaction), UX (User Experience), and AI (Artificial Intelligence) from universities in the Busan area, industry representatives, Chu Seung-jong, head of the Busan University Cooperation Group, and Jung Na-young, manager of the Busan Smart City Promotion Division, among other field experts.

Professor Heo Jeong-yoon from Kookmin University gave a presentation titled "The Role of HCI-UX in the Post-COVID-19 Era," and Professor Seo Jong-hwan from Dong-A University presented on "The Status of HCI-UX Research and Education in the Busan Area."

Following this, Jeong Sun-hee, CEO of S-Cube Design Lab, presented on "Opportunities Brought by Post-COVID-19 from the Perspective of a Regional Specialized Company," suggesting the potential for future industrial development linked with AI.

Lee Im-geon, director of Dong-Eui University's LINC+ Project Group, stated, "In the non-face-to-face era represented by the post-COVID-19 era, industries linking HCI, UX, and AI are essential, but the Busan area is relatively disadvantaged compared to the metropolitan area, so we need to create an opportunity to overcome this reality."

Additionally, Lee Joong-sik, president of the Korean HCI Society, said, "The Korean HCI Society, a professional academic organization in the fields of HCI and UX, has great interest in AI-related fields," and added, "We will actively support the activation of linked industries in this field in Busan at the society level."

Jung Na-young, manager of the Busan Smart City Promotion Division, said, "Busan is actively progressing with smart city projects centered on Eco Delta City, and the core of smart cities inevitably involves UX and AI."

The seminar attendees agreed on the importance of research on UX-HCI industries linked with AI and established the "HCI-UX-AI Busan Research Association."

This group includes experts from regional universities centered on Dong-Eui University, the Busan University Cooperation Group, the Smart City Promotion Division, the Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center, and companies.

They decided to seek ways to revitalize HCI-UX-AI linked industries in line with the trend of expanding non-face-to-face industries.
