[Asia Economy Kim Hyun-jun, Golf Specialist Reporter] "8-under par storm shots."

Kim Si-woo (25, CJ Logistics) has seized a chance to win. On the 16th (Korean time) at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA (par 70, 7,127 yards), during the third day of the final regular season event of the 2020 PGA Tour, the Wyndham Championship (total prize money $6.4 million), he lowered his score by an impressive 8 strokes to take a 2-stroke lead (18-under par 192). Rob Oppenheim and Doc Redman (both from the USA) are in joint second place (16-under par 194), chasing closely behind.

Kim Si-woo made a hole-in-one on the 3rd hole (par 3) and added 7 birdies (1 bogey). On the 3rd hole, he used an 8-iron from 161 yards. "The ball flew toward the pin, someone shouted, and the broadcast team announced it was a hole-in-one," he cheered. He then made consecutive birdies on the 4th and 5th holes, traded a bogey on the 7th hole (par 3) for a birdie on the 8th hole (par 4). Interestingly, on the back nine 12th hole (par 3), his tee shot just missed the hole again, resulting in a 'tap-in birdie.'

The highlight was the three consecutive birdies from holes 15 to 17. Especially on the 17th hole (par 4), his second shot landed right next to the hole, producing an 'eagle-like birdie.' Throughout all 18 holes, he executed inspired iron shots and finished with an average of 1.40 putts per hole, demonstrating exceptional putting. This tournament is notably the 'promised land' where he achieved his first PGA Tour victory in August 2016. Kim Si-woo expressed confidence, saying, "I am in a favorable position in the race for the title," and "My shot feel is better than four years ago."

Both Oppenheim and Redman have yet to win a tournament. The leading group also includes Billy Horschel in 4th place (15-under par 195) and two-time champion Webb Simpson (both from the USA) tied for 7th place (13-under par 197), emerging as players to watch. Simpson has already made a 'third win push' after securing two victories early this year at the Phoenix Open in February and the RBC Heritage in June. From Korea, Im Sung-jae (22, CJ Logistics) added 4-under par to stand tied for 14th place (11-under par 199).
