258,000 Units Activated on First Day... Record Highest Activation Achieved
Pre-Order Total Sales Reach 90% of Galaxy Note10 Levels
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The pre-order activation volume for the Galaxy Note20 has recorded an all-time high.
On the 16th, Samsung Electronics announced that approximately 258,000 units were activated on the first day of activation for Galaxy Note20 pre-order customers. In terms of first-day activation performance alone, this is about 10% higher than the Galaxy Note10.
This achievement surpasses the previous record for the highest number of pre-order activations held by the Galaxy S8 (250,000 units) by 8,000 units.
Samsung Electronics stated, "The overall pre-order activation performance is about 90% of that of the previous Galaxy Note10." The Galaxy Note10 had an 11-day pre-order period, which was 5 days longer than that of the Galaxy Note20, and achieved sales of 1.3 million units during the pre-order period. Compared to the Galaxy Note9, the pre-order sales volume is 1.6 times higher.
Samsung Electronics unveiled the 'Galaxy Note20' and others at the Galaxy Unpacked event on the 5th, accepted pre-orders from the 7th to the 13th, and began pre-activation on the 14th. The official release date is the 21st. Due to high demand during the pre-order period, unlocked models sold out on Samsung.com and Coupang, and delivery schedules were delayed until the end of this month.
For the Galaxy Note series, there are many loyal fans, and the new wireless earphones, Galaxy Buds Live, were offered as a pre-order gift, which is believed to have motivated many consumers to act quickly. Despite the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the rainy season, the performance exceeded expectations.
