Event Held on a Small Scale Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] A commemorative event for the '75th Liberation Day' was held in Beijing (北京), the capital of China.
At the Liberation Day commemorative event held at 10 a.m. on the 15th in the auditorium of the Korean Embassy in China, about 40 people including Ambassador Jang Ha-sung, descendants of independence activists, expatriates, and businesspeople attended.
Due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the event was held on a smaller scale than in previous years.
On the 15th, the 75th Anniversary Liberation Day Celebration was held in the embassy auditorium with about 40 staff members of the Korean Embassy in the host country and representatives of the Korean community attending. Ambassador Jang Ha-sung and descendants of independence activists are taking a commemorative photo.
The ceremony proceeded in the order of Ambassador Jang Ha-sung reading President Moon Jae-in's Liberation Day congratulatory address, singing the Liberation Day song, three cheers of "Daehanminguk Manse," and commemorative photo shooting.
After the ceremony, Ambassador Jang met with descendants of independence activists Kim Cheol-nam, Kim Seong-suk, Kim San, Woo Byeong-ryeol, Kim Dong-jin, Han Rak-yeon, and Jeong Yul-seong residing in China.
