Vice Chairman Jeong Yong-jin Visits Competitor Lotte Mart: "Learned a Lot"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Chung Yong-jin, Vice Chairman of Shinsegae Group, visited his competitor Lotte Mart.

On the afternoon of the 14th, Vice Chairman Chung posted a photo of his visit to Lotte Mart on his Instagram along with the caption, "Learned a lot and came out." Dressed comfortably in cotton pants, Chung toured the meat, seafood, fruit, toy, and electronics sections of Lotte Mart. He also shared a photo with an employee, writing, "Came to Lotte Mart to take pictures but ended up being photographed."

This is not the first time Vice Chairman Chung has visited a competitor. Last month, he visited Lotte Signiel Busan and Hyundai Department Store Pangyo consecutively. On the 12th, he visited the 'Jurassic World Special Exhibition' held at Lotte Mall Gimpo Airport branch.

Vice Chairman Chung has traditionally traveled abroad every summer vacation season to observe advanced distribution channels. However, this year, due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), he is conducting on-site management domestically.
