[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Actor Kwak Do-won’s daily life in Jeju has been revealed.

On the 14th, in the MBC program 'I Live Alone,' actor Kwak Do-won stated, "I have been living alone for well over 20 years. This is Jeju Island. I rented a place here with a two-year contract based on my age."

In the released footage, Kwak Do-won’s house caught attention as it was located in the middle of a green forest. The interior consisted of a bright living room in brown tones and a bedroom with good natural lighting. Kwak Do-won started his morning basking in the sunlight of Jeju without a single curtain.

Regarding the reason he came to live in Jeju, he shared, "I was only getting minor roles in theater and was thinking about quitting when a director invited me to travel to Jeju together. At that time, we stayed at a guesthouse where everyone except one couple was single," adding, "Having conversations and giving advice to them became healing for me. I thought I was a bit better off."

He continued, "What was originally planned as a 3-night, 4-day trip turned into about two weeks. After that, I stayed for a month, two months, and eventually for a long time."

That day, Kwak Do-won called his close friend Yoon Do-hyun to share the news that he had moved even deeper into the forest than before. Then, he played Yoon Do-hyun’s songs and sang along while folding laundry.

While heading out to rent a brush cutter, he showed his lively mood by singing along to songs by Sohyang in the car.

In particular, he showcased his cooking skills by preparing meals with side dishes he made himself. After purchasing ingredients personally, Kwak Do-won prepared mujuk (seaweed soup) in a large pot, saying it was his favorite dish. He also made side dishes using potatoes and tot (seaweed).

In the broadcast, when asked about the situation of having to travel back and forth between Seoul and Jeju, Kwak Do-won expressed satisfaction with his life in Jeju, saying, "There is no inconvenience."
