[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Seulgi Kim] On the 14th, Kim Boo-kyum, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate, said, "Isn't it seriously wrong that Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol is the number one opposition presidential candidate?"

In an interview with the podcast 'A Bird Flies In' on the same day, Candidate Kim said, "Prosecutor General Yoon must be careful with his words and actions so as not to disgrace President Moon Jae-in, who appointed him."

He added, "I ask him to always show the demeanor befitting a high-ranking public official in his future remarks and actions. What I want to advise Prosecutor General Yoon now is that 'You are the Prosecutor General appointed by the President of the Republic of Korea.'"

Regarding Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae, who has been in daily conflict with Prosecutor General Yoon, he said, "Among the confrontations between Minister Choo and Prosecutor General Yoon, has Minister Choo ever gone astray or conceded?" and explained, "Gradually, the prosecutorial arrogance that had been present is diminishing."

He continued, "In fact, Minister Choo is normalizing the prosecution strictly within the legal authority granted to her, which once seemed overwhelmingly powerful," and said, "Let's watch a little longer as Minister Choo normalizes the prosecution."

Earlier, on the 3rd, Prosecutor General Yoon sparked backlash from the ruling party by stating at the new prosecutors' induction ceremony, "True democracy, which rejects dictatorship and totalitarianism disguised as democracy, is the constitutional value."

However, contrary to the ruling party's backlash, in the Gallup poll on preferred next presidential candidates released that day (with a 95% confidence level and a ±3.1% margin of error), Prosecutor General Yoon recorded the highest support rate of 9% among opposition candidates.
