Boseong County Council Conducts Volunteer Activities at Gurye Flood Recovery Site

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 14th, the Boseong County Council in Jeollanam-do announced that it visited Gurye County, which suffered great damage from heavy rain, to support flood recovery efforts.

Gurye County experienced record-breaking heavy rain in early August, resulting in flooding of 1,244 households and facilities, submersion of 421 hectares of crops, and damage to 3,651 livestock. In addition to private damages, public facilities such as roads and bridges were also severely damaged. The scale of the damage is expected to continue increasing.

Accordingly, Chairman Kim Jaecheol, along with members and staff of the Boseong County Council, visited the Gurye 5-day Market, which was heavily affected by river flooding, on the 14th to assist local residents with flood recovery volunteer activities.

Earlier, on the 12th, they also visited Sinri Village in Gokseong County, another flood-affected area, to help with recovery work.

Chairman Kim Jaecheol said, “We hope our small efforts have been of some help,” and added, “The Boseong County Council will do its best to help residents overcome the wounds of the flood and return to their daily lives as soon as possible.”
