[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Department is making every effort to provide psychological support to residents affected by the heavy rain.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) Emergency Psychological Support Team announced on the 14th that they recently visited temporary housing facilities for disaster victims in Gurye-gun, which were flooded by the recent heavy rain, to provide psychological recovery support.
Currently, Gurye-gun Office is operating temporary housing facilities at nine locations including local schools, accommodating about 500 disaster victims, but most of them are elderly seniors who are unable to even consider recovery efforts.
Accordingly, the 119 Psychological Support Team, composed of psychological counselors, took on the role of providing psychological support through counseling to residents who are in a very unstable psychological state due to the flood damage.
In addition to Gurye, they plan to continue providing psychological counseling to disaster-affected areas throughout the province to alleviate psychological and physical hardships.
Chief Ma Jaeyoon said, “We will do our best to comfort the hearts of disaster victims suffering in temporary shelters and to ensure their swift return to daily life as soon as possible.”
