[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] A confirmed case of COVID-19 has been reported at Samsung Electronics' Hwaseong semiconductor plant.
On the 14th, Samsung Electronics announced that a subcontractor employee who accessed the V1 (Foundry) line auxiliary facilities at the Hwaseong semiconductor site tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day.
Samsung Electronics identified the confirmed patient's movements and implemented quarantine measures.
A Samsung Electronics official stated, "The employee tested positive after being tested today," adding, "There is no issue with the semiconductor production line."
