[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 14th, the People’s Party criticized the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, “The ruling party’s approval rating plummeted due to continuous policy failures and loss of public trust, eventually being overtaken by the opposition,” and added, “Despite many citizens’ concerns and opposition, the party stubbornly pursued autocratic parliamentary operations, driving the country’s economy and people’s lives to the brink of collapse, becoming a party ignored by the public.”

Hong Kyung-hee, the senior deputy spokesperson of the People’s Party, stated in a commentary on the same day, “Since the current administration took office, the deceptive acts of key figures such as former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Mi-hyang have degraded the values of fairness and justice and caused great betrayal to the people.”

Senior Deputy Spokesperson Hong also pointed out, “Furthermore, under the pretext of prosecutorial reform, Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae’s focus on restructuring the prosecution for the regime and the Democratic Party’s autocratic parliamentary dominance, which has become a rubber stamp for the Blue House’s orders, along with real estate policies that turned the entire country into a regulatory hell, were countless incidents aimed at causing the approval rating reversal and loss of public trust. The decline in approval ratings was predicted from the start.”

Senior Deputy Spokesperson Hong said, “The Democratic Party must return to a humble attitude that listens to the voice of the people,” and added, “Meanwhile, the United Future Party should not attribute the reflected benefits in approval ratings from the ruling party’s failures to their own efforts in a self-serving manner but should devote themselves more to the competition for opposition innovation for the people.”
