According to Boseong-gun on the 14th, the Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Public Housing Project is a project that actively responds to village decline and rural population decrease due to aging and supplies customized public rental housing to urban residents wishing to return to farming and rural areas.
Through the formation of this council, Boseong-gun expects to inject new vitality into the region by selecting suitable sites within the jurisdiction and supplying about 20 houses.
The promotion direction is that LH will implement rental housing and infrastructure within the complex as a public institution entrusted project, while Boseong-gun will provide return-to-farming and return-to-village programs, farmland, jobs, etc., to ensure stable settlement of residents. Through the council formation, plans include conducting feasibility studies and discovering new business models.
Governor Kim Cheol-woo requested, "LH should take responsible roles so that the public housing project contributes to the stable settlement of return-to-farming and return-to-village residents and becomes a foundation for revitalizing the local economy by solving rural issues such as ultra-aging and population decline in Boseong-gun."
Boseong-gun and Korea Land and Housing Corporation plan to discuss rural housing, jobs, and other rural issues through the council formation and seek solutions to discover successful models.
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun was the first nationwide to attract the 'Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Public Housing Project' through a public contest in 2018 in the Mundeok-myeon area and is promoting the project with a target completion in 2021.
In the Ungok district of Mundeok-myeon, 18 houses will be constructed with a total project cost of 3.5 billion KRW. Currently, Boseong-gun has completed building permits and detailed designs and is preparing to start construction in the second half of the year.
