Hee Ra Won, CEO and fashion designer, is a graduate of the prestigious American art college Parsons The New School for Design. Having had a unique interest in art and fashion since childhood, he graduated from a photography and video department in Korea and then embarked on the path of a fashion designer during a language study program in the United States, which he chose to study fashion marketing. Although he started later than others, Hee Ra Won built his own domain through relentless effort and exceptional passion for design. After graduating from Parsons, he gained business experience at global luxury brands such as Marc Jacobs and Theory, accumulating insights into the fashion and design industry. Hee Ra Won is currently preparing to launch ‘Wodog,’ a stylish fashion brand that reinterprets the glamour of New York from a unique perspective.
Wodog reflects the cityscape that Hee Ra Won has observed during nearly 20 years of living in New York. After completing his university studies in Korea, he studied abroad at Parsons and built a career at global luxury brands, observing New York city from the perspective of a third party?neither a New York citizen nor a Korean. Wodog showcases New York’s storytelling through everyday scenes of citizens and city guardians such as police dogs and officers, all expressed in a single garment. The brand’s most iconic design features retro prints inspired by police dogs, allowing stylish coordination with just one T-shirt. A Wodog representative said, “Our goal is to create a brand that is comfortable for fashion-sensitive people in their teens and twenties as well as for the established generation in their forties and fifties.” They added, “We strive to make Wodog a brand that is not limited to a specific demographic but one that the whole family can wear together and take commemorative photos.”
Above all, ‘Wodog’ is based on CEO Hee Ra Won’s philosophy of ‘making clothes that consumers want to wear,’ using high-quality fabric materials to provide garments that maintain their original fit without deformation even after washing, aiming for long-lasting wear. Hee Ra Won stated, “I have been interested in the need for sustainable fashion due to environmental issues caused by fast fashion,” and added, “We will establish ourselves as a brand that meets the rapidly changing needs of the fashion industry.”
As the stylish fashion brand ‘Wodog,’ which reinterprets the image of New York from a unique perspective, prepares for its domestic launch, expectations are high for CEO Hee Ra Won’s future moves, presenting ‘clothes that are good to wear for a long time’ with retro yet modern designs.
