[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] It has been revealed that Go Yoo-jeong (37), who was prosecuted on charges of killing her ex-husband, mutilating the corpse, and partially disposing of it, carried out the mutilation work before undergoing police investigation.
On the 13th, JTBC's "Lee Kyu-yeon's Spotlight" aired footage revealing the process by which Go Yoo-jeong killed her ex-husband and disposed of the body.
According to the investigation and trial records of Go Yoo-jeong obtained in the broadcast, Go Yoo-jeong left a pension in Jocheon-eup, Jeju, two days after killing her ex-husband on May 25 last year, on the 27th. The next day, on the 28th, the police requested her to appear for questioning, but Go Yoo-jeong refused while crying, claiming she had been sexually assaulted, and said she would appear two days later instead.
Using the two days she gained, it was confirmed that Go Yoo-jeong used more than 50 tools and equipment during this period to mutilate the corpse at her apartment in Gimpo.
Additionally, CCTV footage captured Go Yoo-jeong standing in front of the elevator at her apartment in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, carrying two boxes and something else fully loaded on a cart.
Regarding this, "Spotlight" claimed in the broadcast, "If the police who requested her appearance had tracked Go Yoo-jeong's mobile phone location or had moved the appearance date forward by just one day, they might have been able to find part of the corpse."

Meanwhile, on the 15th of last month, the Jeju 1st Criminal Division of the Gwangju High Court (Presiding Judge Wang Jeong-ok) sentenced Go Yoo-jeong to life imprisonment in the appeal trial, the same as in the first trial.
Go Yoo-jeong is accused of stabbing and killing her ex-husband with a weapon at a pension in Jocheon-eup, Jeju City, in May last year, mutilating the corpse, and disposing of part of it, as well as killing her stepson, who was sleeping face down on a bed, in March of the same year.
However, both the first and second trial courts did not recognize the charge of killing her stepson.
Meanwhile, the Jeju Eastern Police Station conducted a search for the victim's body immediately after the incident. The police focused their search on the southern coast along the Jeju-Wando route, where Go Yoo-jeong partially disposed of the body, and it is reported that more than 1,800 personnel were involved in the operation.
In June last year, the police found about 40 bone fragments at an incineration plant in Gimpo and requested analysis from the National Forensic Service. However, the bones found were all confirmed to be animal bones according to the analysis results.
Ultimately, the police decided to temporarily suspend the search for the body on February 24, 276 days after the incident occurred. However, they plan to resume the search if important clues emerge.
