Chosun University of Technology Holds 3rd Enrollment Ceremony for Gwangju-Style Franchise CEO Program


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Chosun Institute of Technology announced on the 13th that it held the entrance ceremony for the ‘2020 Franchise CEO Course 3rd Class,’ an educational program to train franchise professional leaders aimed at revitalizing the franchise industry in the Gwangju area.


At the event, 40 attendees participated, including officials from the Gwangju Metropolitan City Civil Economy Division, the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Agency, Song Jihyun, head of the Franchise Startup Management Department overseeing the program, representatives such as Lee Guhyun (Chungman Chicken), Kim Hyun (Hyunwandan Kyeomsangchu Twigim), Hwang Jihoon (Dareuda Gimbap), Kim Inseok (Seoul Market Noodles), who operate franchise headquarters representing the Gwangju area and dining establishments selected as representative foods of Gwangju, major companies from the Korea Foodservice Industry Association and the Korea Foodservice Industry Association, key stores in traditional markets, and representatives preparing for franchise development who are newly gaining attention.


The Gwangju-type Franchise CEO Course was established to strongly acknowledge the necessity of work linkage related to franchise support projects for excellent small business owners located in Gwangju Metropolitan City and to mutually cooperate in jointly operating educational programs, manpower, facilities, and information.


The 2020 Franchise CEO Course, co-hosted by the Gwangju Economic Employment Promotion Agency and the Franchise Startup Management Department of Chosun Institute of Technology, invited a faculty composed of the nation’s top practical experts with extensive experience in the franchise industry field.


This course will provide in-depth theoretical education and field training activities necessary for franchise headquarters operations, including franchise future strategies, franchise trends and management strategies, franchise incubating strategies and overseas expansion strategies, franchise business model strategies, core franchise strategies and tactics, commercial district analysis and marketing strategies using big data, sales activation strategies using SNS, core management strategies for franchise headquarters, franchise store development and sales activation strategies, franchise store operation and core strategies, franchise direct and franchise store management diagnosis and activation plans, franchise business law and dispute case analysis, field visits, and seminars.


The Franchise Startup Management Department, the only franchise specialized department in the Honam region operating this educational program, made a significant contribution to achieving 2nd place nationwide in the number of startups among junior colleges in 2018.


Additionally, graduates of this department have established 14 franchise headquarters, 25 brands, 207 direct and franchise stores, and contributed to creating 1,000 jobs.


Furthermore, the Franchise Startup Management Department, where talents needed in the franchise industry such as supervisors, store managers, and managers are actively working in major franchise companies, is currently recruiting students interested in franchises and startups.
