Chungnam to Recruit 1,626 Enumerators for the Population and Housing Census

[Asia Economy (Naepo) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province announced on the 13th that it will recruit 1,626 enumerators to conduct the "2020 Population and Housing Census" until next month 3rd.

The census is conducted every five years under the supervision of Statistics Korea. The survey covers the population, households, and housing nationwide, and the results will be used as basic national statistical data in the future. This year's census will be conducted from November 1 to 18.

The recruitment targets include the "Chief Manager" who oversees the survey work, the "Survey Manager" responsible for field survey guidance and support, and the "Enumerator" who visits households to fill out the survey forms.

Applications for enumerators can be submitted in writing to each city and county office in the province or online by next month 3rd.

Applicants must be residents aged 18 or older with an address in the respective city or county. Since this year’s survey will be conducted as a paperless electronic survey, applicants must be able to operate smart devices such as smartphones or tablets.

Successful candidates will be announced on each city and county office website and the Population and Housing Census homepage, and selected candidates will receive a text message (SMS) with instructions for cyber education enrollment.

Kim Ha-gyun, Director of the Planning and Coordination Office of the province, said, "The Population and Housing Census is the basic data that forms the foundation of national and regional policies and the standard for all statistics," adding, "We will select enumerators who will carry out their duties with a sense of mission and responsibility to enhance the accuracy of the data."
