Gijang-gun Announces Urban Management Plan Decision for Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park project, which has been promoted in Gijang-gun, Busan for the past three years, was designated and announced as Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park on the 12th after review by the Busan City Urban Planning Committee.
If it passes the review of the Busan City Urban Park Committee in September, the urban park creation project will be actively promoted.
Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park is planned to be created on an area of 27,254㎡ (about 8,244 pyeong) at 263 Jangjeon-ri, Cheolma-myeon, Gijang-gun, with a total city and county budget of 10.5 billion KRW.
As Busan's first convergence-type urban agriculture park, it will include facilities such as △grass field outdoor stage △nature learning center △agriculture experience center △Gijang Chal Tomato garden △smart farm △Zelkova tree road and performance plaza △agriculture experience site △crop cultivation area.
A Gijang-gun official said, “We are focusing administrative efforts until the end for the urban park committee review while proceeding with the land compensation process, which is the initial stage for creating the urban agriculture park.”
Gijang-gun expects that once the project is completed, it will provide citizens with a symbolic comprehensive experience space themed on urban agriculture for leisure activities, interaction with nature, and sharing, and will serve as a venue for spreading the value of urban agriculture and promoting urban-rural coexistence.
