Hyundai Department Store Advances Chuseok Gift Set Pre-Order Sales by 10 Days

Last year during Chuseok, employees at the Hyundai Department Store Apgujeong Main Branch food hall are introducing Hanwoo gift sets.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Hyundai Department Store is starting the “Chuseok Gift Set Pre-order Sale” ten days earlier than last year. Considering that this is the first holiday since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the sales period has been extended to encourage customers to visit at different times and avoid crowding. Additionally, non-face-to-face services will be provided during the gift set sales period to create a safe shopping environment for customers.

Hyundai Department Store announced on the 13th that the “2020 Chuseok Gift Set Pre-order Discount Event” will begin on the 14th. The event will start at the Trade Center branch and from the 21st will be held at all 15 branches nationwide.

During the holiday gift set sales period, Hyundai Department Store plans to install sneeze guards at the product reception desks and use handheld ultraviolet sterilizers to continuously disinfect shared furniture such as sofas, tables, and chairs in waiting areas, making every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Hyundai Department Store will also operate various non-face-to-face services. Customers can pre-enter the delivery address on the mobile pre-delivery reception website and then quickly and conveniently register at a dedicated reception desk. A public guidebook introducing gift products will also be produced and provided in mobile format. Some branches, such as the Pangyo branch, have set up a waiting system that sends alerts via KakaoTalk at the reception desk, so customers do not have to take a number and wait in line.

During the pre-order sales period, Hyundai Department Store plans to offer up to 30% discounts on about 200 popular holiday gift sets, mainly focusing on directly purchased products such as meat, seafood, and fresh produce.

Representative products include the Hyundai Special Hanwoo set with Grade 1 sirloin and bulgogi priced at 250,000 KRW (selling price 270,000 KRW), Yeonggwang spring dried yellow corvina set at 330,000 KRW (selling price 370,000 KRW), Hyundai anchovy set at 96,000 KRW (selling price 120,000 KRW), and Sabini mini truffle set No. 3 at 36,000 KRW (selling price 45,000 KRW).
