[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Puppies trapped under building debris for up to eight days were miraculously rescued thanks to the maternal love of their mother dog.
According to MBC News on the 12th, four puppies buried in the rubble of a collapsed building in a village in Yul-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, were all rescued after a week. The mother dog approached the puppies buried underground, dug the ground, and howled, which initiated the rescue operation.
The previous day, after heavy rain caused several houses and warehouses to collapse in a village in Yul-myeon, the village restoration began in earnest. Residents found the mother dog sadly crying and digging the ground at the collapsed warehouse site.
The residents realized there were puppies in the debris from the sound of whining coming from underground.
Residents and volunteers dug through the dirt and piles of stones and rescued two white puppies.
However, the next day, the mother dog broke free from a leash and howled again toward the ground.
In response, the residents started another rescue operation and rescued two more buried puppies.
Afterwards, the mother dog and the four rescued puppies were moved to an animal shelter. The shelter announced plans to provide treatment and find adopters.
