Suncheon City and Korea Association of Housing Managers Suncheon Branch Jointly Support Flood Damage Recovery in Hwangjeon-myeon Through Public-Private Cooperation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On July 7-8, due to record-breaking heavy rains causing flooding damage, Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) and the Korea Housing Managers Association Suncheon Branch (Branch Chief Wi Mu-ryang) worked together in a public-private partnership, sweating profusely to quickly restore the damage in Yongnim Village, Hwangjeon-myeon, Suncheon City.

Yongnim, Bichon, and Bokho villages in Hwangjeon-myeon, located along the Seomjin River, experienced rising water levels due to the recent heavy rains, resulting in flooding of houses and the emergency evacuation of 91 residents.

On the 12th, volunteers from the Suncheon City Architecture Department and the Korea Housing Managers Association washed away household items and goods covered in muddy water, cleaned up household waste, and the Suncheon City Architecture Department delivered bottled water, lunch boxes, and snacks while encouraging the volunteers and affected residents.

Wi Mu-ryang, Branch Chief of the Korea Housing Managers Association Suncheon Branch, said, "It is very regrettable that we could not provide more help to the disaster victims who suffered great damage," and added, "I hope the recovery will be completed quickly."

The 'Housing Managers Suncheon Volunteer Group' within the Korea Housing Managers Association Suncheon Branch is an organization of about 130 members who visit low-income households once a month to continuously provide home repair services such as electrical repairs and wallpapering.
