Gimcheon-si, Youth Employment and Startup Incubating Support Project Agreement

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 12th, Gimcheon City in Gyeongbuk announced that it signed a consignment agreement for the youth employment and startup incubating support project with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Gimcheon University on the 11th.


The signing ceremony was attended by Mayor Kim Chung-seop, Gimcheon University President Yoon Ok-hyun, Baek Yeol-seon, head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation at Gimcheon University, and Professor Wi Seong-bin, a key professor in industry-academic cooperation.


For this project, Gimcheon City prepared a separate incubating space (77㎡) at the Gimcheon City Youth Center located at 67 Hwangsan-ro. The target participants are unemployed youth aged 15 to 39 with local residency, and the number of recruits is planned to be 15.


The recruitment fields include a business development team supporting new product development linked to the 6th industry, a promotion and market development support team utilizing social media, and a product design development team aiming to enhance the added value of products through the design development of special products and excellent goods. Selected youth will receive support for labor costs and the four major social insurance premiums, and will engage in activities for up to six months in each field in connection with social economy enterprises.


Mayor Kim Chung-seop said, "We expect this project to play a significant role in revitalizing the social economy and providing opportunities for youth employment and startups," adding, "We will strive to promote the project so that both participating companies and youth can achieve a win-win outcome."
