On the 11th (local time), the Biden campaign announced on its website that Senator Harris had been nominated as the vice presidential candidate. The Biden team revealed the nomination through a statement titled "TOGETHER WE WILL BEAT DONALD TRUMP."
The Biden campaign explained, "Harris, the first Black woman to represent California in the U.S. Senate, grew up believing in America's promise and fighting to ensure that promise is fulfilled for all Americans."
