[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] On the 11th, 34 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were identified in South Korea.
According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters for COVID-19, as of midnight on this day, the number of new domestic COVID-19 cases was 23 from local transmission and 11 from overseas inflow. The total cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 14,660.
Local transmission cases include 9 in Busan, 7 in Gyeonggi, 6 in Seoul, and 1 in Chungnam. Among the 11 overseas inflow cases, 3 were detected during quarantine, and the remaining 8 were confirmed in the community. Two are Korean nationals and nine are foreigners. The countries of overseas inflow are the United States with 5 cases, Kazakhstan with 3, and the Philippines, Moldova, and Algeria with 1 case each.
The number of patients who have been declared recovered and released from isolation reached 13,729, an increase of 71 from the previous day. No deaths were reported, maintaining the cumulative death toll at 305, the same as the previous day.
