[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] The Jeonbuk Imsil County Health and Medical Center has launched preventive tests for complications in chronic disease patients such as hypertension and diabetes to prevent and manage chronic diseases among county residents.

According to the county health and medical center on the 10th, the county will prioritize testing for uncontrolled patients with hypertension and diabetes among those registered in the Public Health Information System (PHIS) home health care project.

The PHIS home health care project is a program aimed at improving the control and medication rates of hypertension and diabetes, which are major precursor diseases of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and facilitating linkage to disease treatment.

The testing schedule will last for two months starting this month, with hypertension patients undergoing blood pressure and total cholesterol tests, and diabetes patients undergoing blood sugar and glycated hemoglobin tests.

Uncontrolled chronic disease patients identified through this preventive testing will receive continuous management services, including individual counseling and referrals to other medical institutions, through the health and medical center and the integrated health officers at the respective towns, townships health centers, and health clinics.

Yang Hyungsik, director of the county health and medical center, stated, “We are doing our best to minimize deaths caused by cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications through proper management of hypertension and diabetes,” and added, “We will make every effort to improve the quality of life by promoting the health of county residents.”
