Board Game for Peaceful Unification with 32 Elementary Students and Parents on the 18th and 22nd... - Creating Board Games on Peace and Unification, Enhancing the Necessity of Unification and Intergenerational Communication through Play and Discussion
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is promoting the "Enjoyable Unity Peace and Unification Board Game" (hereafter referred to as the board game) program to cultivate a sense of unification and patriotism in celebration of the 75th Liberation Day.
This program, designed for children and parents to participate together, aims to eliminate the sense of alienation toward North Korean culture and to build a consensus among residents about unification.
The program will be held twice on the 18th and 22nd of this month at Isu Station Job Studio (10, Dongjak-daero 25-gil) for 32 participants, including elementary school students from grades 3 to 6 and their parents (16 participants per session).
Under the guidance of a unification expert instructor, students and parents will have the opportunity to create and play board games themed on peace and unification, and through discussion sessions on unification, promote communication and understanding between generations.
Residents who wish to participate can download the application form from the district website, fill it out, and submit it via email to the person in charge (gagaga33@dongjak.go.kr). Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Autonomous Administration Division.
During the program, strict quarantine measures will be implemented to prevent COVID-19 infection, including wearing masks, temperature checks, and maintaining a minimum distance of 1 meter between attendees.
Additionally, the district will carry out the "Nameplate Attachment" project for national merit recipients residing in the area until the end of the year.
Last year, nameplates were attached to 1,367 individuals including independence patriots and their families, national merit recipients, and democracy patriots. This year, nameplates will be attached to 1,694 people by visiting them directly at each community service center and affixing them to their front doors.
The district will also jointly promote the "75th Liberation Day Patriotism Taegeukgi Flag Raising Campaign" until the 15th. This includes operating a Taegeukgi flag demonstration street at the National Cemetery, posting Taegeukgi flag raising notices on bulletin boards of apartment complexes, and promoting flag raising at monthly meetings of private and apartment complex representatives.
Choi Hwan-bong, head of the Autonomous Administration Division, said, "Through this project, we hope it will be a time for residents to share the necessity of peaceful unification through intergenerational communication and to deeply reflect on those who sacrificed for the country."
