[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) will operate a dedicated officer system from August 10 to promptly handle COVID-19 safety report civil complaints.
According to the city, when the department designation for COVID-19 reports is unclear or in urgent cases, the dedicated safety report officer will directly step in to conduct on-site inspections of blind spots in quarantine and respond quickly to prevent gaps in quarantine measures.
Citizens can report violations of COVID-19 quarantine guidelines or self-quarantine rules through the COVID-19 specialized reporting section on the ‘Safe Report’ app or portal.
The city plans to award prize money to outstanding reporters and those who contribute to improving COVID-19 quarantine systems after internal review.
Mayor Kwon Oh-bong of Yeosu said, “Through the dedicated COVID-19 safety report officer system, we will promptly resolve COVID-19 complaints and block quarantine blind spots early to ensure citizens’ safety and alleviate their anxiety.”
