[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] The savings bank industry has stepped up to support victims of the heavy rain damage.
The Korea Federation of Savings Banks announced on the 10th that all 79 savings banks participated in donating 100 million won in funds to the National Disaster Relief Association to support victims of the heavy rain damage and vulnerable groups.
The federation stated, "We will fulfill our role as a savings bank that is 'always on your side' for ordinary citizens and self-employed people facing difficulties."
Separately, Welcome Savings Bank donated 100 million won to the Disaster Relief Association. Kim Dae-woong, CEO of Welcome Savings Bank, said, "We hope those affected can return to their daily lives as soon as possible, and that this donation will be a small help."
