Jongno-gu, Online Voting for Collaborative Project Ranking Selection

Providing Residents Direct Participation Opportunities in Ranking Decisions from 10th to 12th: Public and Private Sectors Share Authority and Collaborate

Jongno-gu, Online Voting for Collaborative Project Ranking Selection

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) will conduct the '2021 Collaborative Governance Project Priority Selection Online Voting' from the 10th to the 12th.

This is to provide residents with the opportunity to directly participate in the priority decision process, allowing the public and private sectors to share authority, collaborate, and solve community issues.

To this end, from May to July, the district held multiple online and small-scale public forums to prevent the spread of COVID-19, resulting in 21 agendas across four areas: ▲Village Environment ▲Culture and Education ▲Communication and Sharing ▲Resident Spaces.

Administrative reviews on legality, validity, fairness, and redundancy were conducted, along with assessments of the feasibility of public-private collaboration. Through processes such as integrating similar projects and excluding duplicates in sector-specific forums, the final 21 agendas were selected as priority proposals.

In the 'Village Environment' category, agendas include a Happy Companion Dog Management Program for all, Bright and Safe Changsin-dong, and Strong Feet for Healthy Centenarians. In the 'Culture and Education' category, Healing Horticultural Therapy and a Healing Program to Find Myself through Flowers were proposed.

Additionally, in the 'Communication and Sharing' category, agendas such as Job Creation for Vulnerable Groups and We Are Bukchon Village Informers were included. The 'Resident Spaces' category prioritized agendas like Village Festivals where local workers actively participate and all generations engage, and the United Fortress Village.

All projects were directly proposed and detailed by residents, embedding solutions to various inconveniences experienced in daily life, making them meaningful.

Online voting is available on the Seoul M-Voting site, and any Jongno-gu resident or those living in the area can participate.

Jongno-gu plans to reflect the prioritized projects in the 2021 Jongno-gu Community Innovation Plan, submit it to Seoul City, and proceed after final approval.

Mayor Kim Young-jong stated, “True collaborative governance may progress somewhat slowly, but it is about moving forward together with the public and private sectors in harmony. Since this priority selection for collaborative projects is a process involving administrative partners, we hope many interested residents will participate.”
