[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] The body of a woman presumed to have gone missing in Danyang was found near Cheongpung Lake in Jecheon, Chungbuk.
The Chungbuk Fire Headquarters announced that at around 5:48 PM on the 9th, they discovered a female body while conducting a search operation around Cheongpung Lake. The body is presumed to be A (72), who went missing after being swept away by a rapid current in Simgok-ri, Eosangcheon-myeon, Danyang-gun.
A was reported missing after being swept away by a rapid current at 11:56 AM on the 2nd while creating a waterway in a field drainage ditch.
The location where the body was found was investigated to be about 30 km away from the place where she went missing.
A's daughter (49) and son-in-law (54), who tried to rescue her, also jumped into the water and went missing together. The son-in-law was found dead on the 6th under Dojeon Bridge near Dodamsambong on the Namhan River in Danyang-gun, about 11 km from the missing location.
One remaining missing person is still being searched for.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
