[Asia Economy Reporter Wondara] Shin Dong-geun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, pointed out that former Dongyang University professor Jin Jung-kwon’s continued criticism of President Moon Jae-in is "because he confirmed that President Moon has a deep affection for Kkugi (former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk)."
On the morning of the 9th, Shin posted on his Facebook, "I heard three reasons why former professor Jin changed his stance on President Moon this year. In my view, there is only one reason, but I think he uses the first two as seasoning because he fears appearing petty."
He analyzed, "Former professor Jin is solely consumed by ill feelings and burning hostility toward his friend Kkugi. But since he confirmed that the president has a deep affection for Kkugi, he has become the same target of hostility. This is the alpha and omega."
He continued, "Jin Jung-kwon looks at the world wearing glasses with a bumpy lens of hostility toward Kkugi on the surface. There is no way the world looks clear to him," adding, "His judgment of the world is becoming simpler: Is it good or bad for Kkugi? It’s really simple."
Shin said, "That is why Jin Jung-kwon is blinded by the obsession to deal a heavy blow to the Moon Jae-in administration, so he does not see the problematic behavior of a reporter who repeatedly commits illegal threats and coercion, nor the shocking remarks and actions of Prosecutor General Han Dong-hoon."
He also said, "That is why when Yoon Hee-sook, a member of the United Future Party, gained attention, Jin Jung-kwon jumped on the bandwagon praising her by mentioning ethos, pathos, and logos, but when he realized that Yoon is a Korean Thatcher who unhesitatingly represents the top 1%, he hastily wrote a post saying 'this is not the case here' to sweep it away."
Finally, he warned, "Former members Kim Moon-soo and Cha Myung-jin were prominent labor activists and progressives just 30 years ago. Now, they are waving the Taegeukgi flag in the square," adding, "You never know a person’s life. Once someone goes astray, the place they end up may be unimaginable now. I hope people keep this in mind."
Earlier, on the 30th of last month, Shin criticized in a post titled 'Jin Jung-kwon and the Neocons,' saying, "Until the end of last year, Jin Jung-kwon supported President Moon but said the problem was those around him. Recently, however, he says President Moon has no philosophy and even calls his administration a gangster regime. His attitude toward President Moon has completely changed in just a few months."
In response, former professor Jin wrote on Facebook on the 8th, "Not long ago, Shin asked me, 'Last year you said the problem was not President Moon but those around him. Why have you changed your words now?'" He rebutted, "The decisive reason was the third one. When the president said at the New Year’s press conference earlier this year that he felt a debt of gratitude toward former Minister Cho Kuk, the moment I heard that, everything became clear. It was not just a problem with those around him but the president’s own problem."
Regarding the previous two occasions, former professor Jin also stated, "The first was when he justified the violent behavior of extreme supporters at the presidential candidate debate as 'seasoning that enriches democracy,' and the second was when he saw the president write 'I’m sorry. Thank you.' to the children in the Sewol ferry guestbook."
